State Of The Arch is a collaborative work by Alina Ling, Jake Tan, and Nasya Goh, presented at the Chinese Heritage Centre, Yunnan Garden (Singapore) in April 2019.
Responding to the site’s architectural language and heritage context, the piece explores threshold and passage—using the arch as both structure and metaphor. Livestreaming where the original Nanyang Arch is, marking the entrance to the land owned by the original Nanyang University. The work explores the politics of land and power from the lens of the first university in Singapore.
