LEDS GO 8 is a collectible electronic artwork and platform for live computational patterns. Each unit contains a unique ID, or seed, that shapes how its algorithms behave over time. Across the edition, every LEDS GO 8 performs the same authored system differently. Activated by a shake, the object refreshes its state and selects one of eight built-in algorithms, generating a pattern unique only to that unit.
The work treats the custom Printed Circuit Board (PCB) as a canvas - materially inscribing logic, signal, power, and composition - and infrastructure - making computation visible as both image and object. Each edition contains a unique seed. This seed shapes how future algorithms unfold within the machine, allowing every edition to perform the same authored system differently. The algorithm remains deterministic, but its expression is particular to each object. Across the edition, the work exists as a performance of related behaviours: shared rules, individual outcomes.
