BIOS: Bonsai Specimens

BIOS: Bonsai Specimens

ArtScience Museum, as part of In The Ether Festival
Real-time Dynamic NFT Installation

BIOS: Bonsai Specimens presents a digital bonsai that grows over time, influenced by each block generated by the Ethereum blockchain. This interactive artwork allows viewers to witness the gradual evolution of a bonsai, growing with each new block that the Ethereum blockchain processes and verifies, triggering subtle changes in its branches.

Visitors can engage with the piece through a digital interface, and observe real-time blockchain updates and their direct impact on the plant's development. This organic growth pattern driven by data and decentralised technology visualises the growth of the blockchain through a self-updating digital object.

This work is part of the BIOS: Living NFT series and supported by SERIAL CO_.
