BIOS: Bonsai Specimens presents a digital bonsai that grows over time, influenced by each block generated by the Ethereum blockchain. This interactive artwork allows viewers to witness the gradual evolution of a bonsai, growing with each new block that the Ethereum blockchain processes and verifies, triggering subtle changes in its branches.

New media artwork by Jake Tan (JXKE)

Visitors can engage with the piece through a digital interface, and observe real-time blockchain updates and their direct impact on the plant's development. This organic growth pattern driven by data and decentralised technology visualises the growth of the blockchain through a self-updating digital object.
